Phoenix is a destination known for the heat and desert.  But did you know, it is also a top vacation spot? Even though Arizona can hit temperatures as high as 118 degrees in the summer, it is actually a pretty amazing place to travel to. If one is traveling to Phoenix while the weather is nice, they will be able to find some really fun things to do.

Airport- Getting There

Sky Harbor International Airport is the main airport for the city of Phoenix. When you fly in you will be greeted by rich culture of Arizona presented in the terminals. Since Phoenix is such a large city it can be difficult for travelers to find their way around. Luckily Sky Harbor is one of the airports that SuperShuttle and ExecuCar service. Before you leave for Phoenix it is a good idea to book your round-trip ride with either the shuttle or luxury car. The driver will be able to pick you up curb side and take you to your Phoenix destination.

Places to Go, Things to See         

Desert Botanical Garden

Desert Botanical Garden is filled with some of Arizona’s most amazing plant and wildlife. Take a walk through the new butterfly exhibit opening in spring of 2017. Events at the garden include exquisite light shows, unique food and drink, and live bands.

Golf

Located in Scottsdale Arizona, Top Golf is one of the coolest spots to visit. Top Golf is a multilevel driving range where you can play fun games, practice, eat and drink!

Arizona Science Center

Located in the heart of downtown, the Science Center is a great place to take the family. They have interactive labs, shows, games and equipment for all ages.

Sporting Events

Baseball- Catch a game at Chase Field to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Football- See the Cardinals in an action-packed game at The University of Phoenix stadium located in Glendale, Ariz.

Hockey- Howl for the Coyotes at a thrilling hocking game at Jobing.com Arena right next door to the football stadium.

Basketball- Watch the Phoenix Suns score at an exciting basketball game at the Talking Stick Resort Arena right by Chase Field in Downtown Phoenix.

Hiking

The winter time in Arizona can compare to some states’ spring and early summer temperatures. Beginning of December in Phoenix can still be at around 72 degrees. Grab your hiking boots and get ready to sweat with these amazing trails!

Camelback Mountain

Experienced-  For the more experienced hiker the mountain of choice should be Camelback Mountain, also known as Echo Canyon. This mountain is a challenge and can be dangerous for those not experienced in hiking. But it is
definitely a site to see once you reach the peak!

Intermediate/Beginner- There are plenty of other choices for you if you want a different kind of hiking experience. In Phoenix, North Mountain has a steep all paved hiking trail that is perfect for the family. Shaw Butte is another Phoenix mountain that has a dirt path with challenging moments but beginners are able to do this one.
