New York City Information
New York City’s five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten
Island each have a long list of experiences and attractions to offer its 45 million+
visitors each year. Many of NYC’s first-time visitors flock to Manhattan to view
its world-famous landmarks including Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and the Chrysler
Building. Those interested in arts and culture can see a show on Broadway, stop
at a jazz club in Harlem or visit Museum Mile, while serious shoppers might enjoy
a walk along Fifth Avenue.
Brooklyn lies across the East River from Manhattan, and is regarded for its charming
residential neighborhoods, and scenic views from the Brooklyn Bridge. The many neighborhoods
of Queens are characterized by their diversity and foreign influences boasting natives
of more countries than any other county in the U.S. Travelers to Queens can experience
unique cultural tastes and traditions, catch a game at Shea Stadium, or visit Noguchi
Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park and P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center. In the Bronx,
sightseers can wander through Pelham Bay Park, or see the marinas at Long Island
Sound and City Island. Other popular attractions include the Bronx Zoo, the New
York Botanical Gardens, Arthur Avenue and Yankee Stadium. Many tourists prefer to
visit Staten Island by ferry which offers great views of the harbor and the Statue
of Liberty. Historic Richmond Town, St. George Theatre and Snug Harbor Cultural
Center are other frequently visited sites in Staten Island.

LaGuardia Airport (LGA) Information
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) has been operated by The Port Authority of New York and
New Jersey since 1947 and is located just 8 miles from midtown Manhattan in the
Borough of Queens, New York City. Named after former mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, It
was the first international airport on the eastern seaboard and home of the first
round-the-world scheduled commercial flight. After numerous renovations and expansions
throughout the years, LaGuardia Airport currently consists of 680 acres, 72 gates,
30 airlines, and 4 passenger terminals. The Marine Air Terminal (MAT) was the original
terminal building and was designated a historic landmark in 1995. The US Airways
Terminal connects to the airline’s Shuttle Terminal providing flights every hour
and the Delta Air Lines Terminal operates Delta and Northwest Airlines flights.
The Central Terminal Building (CTB) is the largest of the four with approximately
750,000 square feet and serves the majority of the airport’s domestic airlines.
LaGuardia Airport and the Port Authority are cornerstones of the New York City community.
Its provision is essential in promoting alternative fuel vehicles, decreasing noise
pollution, supporting local artists, and generating nearly 100,000 jobs.
