Denver International Airport (DEN) Information
Denver International Airport (commonly known as DIA) opened in February 1995 and
is the only major airport to be built in the United States in the last 25 years.
The current facility, which is located 23 miles northeast of downtown Denver, accommodates
50 million passengers a year and is ranked the 4th busiest airport in the U.S. and
the 11th busiest worldwide. Jeppesen Terminal has approximately 1.5 million square
feet (135,000 square meters) of public space, including a central atrium that is
walled by glass and covered by a translucent tensile membrane roof. DEN has three
concourses: A, B, and C, which provide access to 93 passenger gates. Concourse A
gives travelers a unique closeup view of the airplanes and serves domestic carriers,
Continental, Frontier, Great Lakes, and Jet Blue and International carriers British
Airways, Mexicana, Air Canada and Lufthansa. Concourse B serves United Airlines
and commuter flights through the Regional Jet Facility and Concourse C serves AirTran,
Alaska/Horizon, American, Big Sky, Delta, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest and US Airways.
