Are Reservations Required?

SuperShuttle Driver Reservation RequirementsWhether or not you will need to book in advance depends on the following two factors:

  • Whether your ride is to or from the airport
  • Which airport you are flying into or out of

Rides To The Airport

If you are booking a ride TO the airport (aka: an inbound service) then yes, an advance reservation is always required.

This service can be booked right here, or via our mobile site, mobile apps for iPhone ® and Android ®, or by calling Customer Care at 1-800-BLUE VAN (258-3826).

Rides From The Airport

If you are booking a ride FROM the airport (aka: outbound service) the answer depends on the airport. The following airports require reservations:

The remaining airports we serve do not require outbound reservations, though they are recommended as it helps us to better anticipate demand.

Outbound Reservations Clarification

Reservations for rides from the airport serve as a prepayment and are designed to save customers time and energy booking their shared ride. After a long trip, it’s one less thing to worry about, which is why prepayment has become the norm for the travel industry.

Due to security considerations, most airports do not allow us to have vans lined up at the curb waiting for individual travelers. If you book a reservation with us in advance, this means a van will not necessarily be waiting for you at the curb when you arrive. Wherever possible, we do have vans waiting close by, in a 'holding lot' or parking garage at or near the airport. Vans are assigned once you check in, following arrival of your flight, and wait times for pick-up from your airport terminal do vary from city to city.

Checking into SuperShuttle at the Airport

Our check-in procedures vary by airport. Upon landing, please refer to your email confirmation for complete instructions. The moment you have your luggage and have informed our staff you are ready to go, per instructions, you will be entered into our system, quickly matched with others going in your direction, and a van will be sent to pick you up.

Benefits of Making Reservations through SuperShuttle.com

When you book your reservation online, you save the time and hassle of paying with credit card or cash on board the vehicle, plus you automatically save $2 by avoiding call center service fee. What's more, you may qualify for special discounts available to customers who book online and you could even earn frequent flyer point and miles on select airline carriers. Enjoy the convenience and peace of mind of having your reservation completed in advance by booking a reservation today!

Other Vehicle Options

If you’d like a vehicle to be ready and waiting for you upon arrival, you might consider our ExecuCar service. It’s a higher price, and advance reservations are required, but service includes a private sedan, uniformed driver, and direct transportation, all welcome comforts after a long trip.

I red “How it Works” section about child passenger safety, checked at http://www.ghsa.org/html/stateinfo/laws/childsafety_laws.html for NY and still don´t have it very clear. On a trip, in a shared van, from JFK to Manhattan hotel, can a 4 years old child ride with Adult Safety Belt if no lap/shoulder belt available. I cannot bring my own booster seat. Thank you

KD: The wording on these are pretty vague. The vans in NYC all have lap/shoulder style belts, which - based on the wording in both the website you mentioned and the IIHS website - means that you'd be required to bring a booster seat. There are a number of places in New York to rent safety seats, though I'm not sure the specific details. If you are truly unable to bring or rent a car seat, you'll probably need to find alternate transportation that does not require them, such as the large coach buses that pick people up from the airport or the public transit system, which is quite extensive in New York. Cabs will have the same limitations as our shuttles, since they have the same style seat belts. Hope this helps!

Wife and I are arriving Denver Airport on June 6th and departing on June 9th. How far in advance should we make our shuttle reservations?

Jarrell: To ensure availability, we recommend reserving your ride no later than 24 hours in advance of the time you'll need to be picked up. If you choose to book weeks or months in advance, you can make changes to the reservations as needed, up until 4 hours in advance of the scheduled pick-up time. Hope that helps!

Erique: You can book a shuttle upon arrival at the airport. IAH vans can hold up to 10 passengers. To learn more, check out the IAH location page.

As prepayment is required on all advanced reservations, the only way to pay at the time of the ride is to book curbside upon arrival at the airport. We have customer service representatives at ticket counters in each terminal at IAH to help. They'll set your group up with a van and you can pay cash to the driver when the ride is completed. If you need additional information, please email us at mailto:customercare@supershuttle.net.

Seriously....after waiting quite a long time for a shuttle at SFO despite having a reservation, the van is stopped by the police, presumably for speeding--further lengthening an already too long trip. Will think twice about SuperShuttle next time.

Confirmation Number: 8649730 I just arrived home from LAX tonight and I was not impressed by the super shuttle service/policy. The van I reserved was for 7 passengers -- they jammed 8 people in the van (uncomfortable) -- including two riders that had no reservations.... the drop offs were spread out quite widely and I was annoyed to find out that the two riders accepted last minute at the curb were not automatically the last to be dropped off. If that was your policy, it might encourage ALL riders to make a reservation. Was surprised that even though I had taken the time and care to arrange ahead of time, it did me NO good as I was the absolute LAST drop off -- which meant over an hour of riding around AFTER the first drop off... this will likely be my last super shuttle trip.

Lisa: I'm sorry to read about your experience. I appreciate your feedback about the order of drop-offs and will pass it along internally. Additionally, a case has been filed on your behalf and our Customer Advocacy will get in touch with you shortly.

I was disappointed with you service on a recent flight from LAX to SFO. I had made a reservation to be picked up at SFO and taken home on the Sunday morning following Thanksgiving. The print out indicated that my reservation was for 7:30 am. However I discovered that your dispatchers don't arrive until 8 am. I did not depart the airport until 8:30 am. Being the end of the holidays many people were waiting before 8 am. Also the dispatcher was rather rude. I approached him once he arrived to give him my name. He told me to wait in the corner. He proceeded to talk with other people. I walked up several time and each time he told me to wait. I ended up being one of the last he talked with. It seems that on a holiday you might anticipate more travelers, and pay to have your dispatchers arrive earlier and hence better meet the reservation time you promise.
