Airport Transportation Options at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International

St. Petersburg Florida Beach

St. Petersburg, known lovingly by the locals as St. Pete, has always had a reputation for being, well… old. While Florida has been a popular place to retire for decades now, things are changing. In 2011, American Style magazine rated St. Pete as its top mid-size city in America, noting its blossoming and vibrant arts scene. Aside from the culture, the city itself is irresistible; 361 days of sunshine a year, pristine beaches… it’s a quick getaway from nearby Tampa Bay and a special refuge for those looking to decompress. So, stay awhile! We’ll help you get to and from St. Pete-Clearwater Airport with ease.

Public Transportation

The PSTA is a public bus system in St. Petersburg, but unfortunately, it doesn’t directly service the airport. Bus route 97 can get you fairly close, but a cab or other transportation means would be necessary to reach the terminal.

Airport Shuttles

At a small airport like PIE, where public transportation is sparse and taxis add on extraneous fees, a shuttle service like SuperShuttle is a great way to get around. Our blue vans can pick you up directly at the terminal and drop you off wherever you please – home, hotel, office, or anything in between (and vice versa). It’s not as expensive as a taxi or rental car, but it’s far more convenient than taking the bus and walking to the terminal. Plus, you save a few bucks. Win-win!

To find us at PIE, simply exit baggage claim and proceed outside to the ground transportation area and we’ll meet you there.

Taxi Cabs

There are two cab companies that operate at St. Pete-Clearwater Airport, both located outside at the Ground Transportation area. While they’re convenient for quick trips during non-rush hours, taxis here can get expensive. At $2.25 per mile, plus $27 per hour waiting, your taxi travel bill can add up quickly.

Rental Cars

Six rental car companies have on-site counters at PIE, located in the baggage claim area. If you plan on driving a lot, a rental car might be the best option. But if you’re staying in a hotel or plan on just lounging on the incredible beaches, it may not be necessary. Rental and mileage fees, plus soaring gas costs (the cheapest gas in St. Petersburg hovers around $3.70) can make for a higher transportation bill than planned.

Parking Options

If driving yourself and parking at the airport is unavoidable, there are options for every length of stay and budget.  The short-term parking lot charges $2 for the first hour and $1 each additional 20 minutes, up to a daily maximum of $14. Obviously, this choice is best for quick pick-ups and drop-offs or day trips. Long-term parking follows the same fees, but goes up to only $11 per day, or $77 per week. If those two lots are entirely full, the Remote parking lot offers free shuttle service to and from the lot and costs just $8 per day. However, this lot isn’t always open like the previous two.

Private Car Service

With our private black sedan service ExecuCar, you get what you pay for. True, it is on the pricier side of our services, but with it comes an exclusive, private ride in our sophisticated cars, customized airport meet and greets, on-board credit card services, direct corporate billing, and more.

If you want to ride in style next time you’re in St. Petersburg, reserve your ride here.

Public transportation is very necessary for the people. Particularly the transport facilities to the Airport are very necessary for the people and these are helpful to transit people safely to the Airport in time.
