With Valentine’s Day coming up, couples everywhere are starting to compile their list of romanticisms for their partner. Chocolates? Check. Flowers, spa days, or reservations at their favorite restaurant? Check. A quick ride to the airport? Ehhh, not so much.
We get it. It’s a commitment. Driving someone to the airport can be a big deal and is sometimes a trip you (or your partner) isn’t ready to make.
In “When Harry Met Sally,” Harry explains why he never gives rides to the airport: “When you take someone to the airport, it’s clearly the beginning of the relationship. That’s why I have never taken anyone to the airport at the beginning of a relationship… Because eventually things move on and you don’t take someone to the airport and I never wanted anyone to say to me, how come you never take me to the airport anymore?” And he’s got a point.
In new relationships, a ride to the airport can mean a number of things. It could be start of a close, intimate relationship in which rides to the airport are a given – why wouldn’t you give your significant other a ride to the airport? On the other hand, giving someone a ride to the airport may open up a can of worms: giving hope where none should be or inspiring questions such as “What does it mean?” long before you’re ready to have The Talk.
That’s why we’re here. At SuperShuttle, we’re all about romance and if you let us take care of your airport transportation arrangements, you can avoid that awkward conversation with your partner or crush entirely. Even better, you can avoid the potentially awkward answers.
Not ready to have “The Talk” about driving each other to the airport? Click here to book your ride with SuperShuttle! We won’t judge.
