When refunds are issued for cancelled reservations, customers understandably have one question on their minds: When will I get my money back? Depending on how you paid, the refund process goes a bit differently.
Credit Card Refunds
If you paid for your reservation in advance with a credit card, you may receive your refund quicker than with other forms of payment. Once you request a refund, our Customer Advocacy department determines your refund status and seeks approval if necessary. Once approved, the request is sent over to Accounts Payable, who is able to process the request within 24 hours. The actual refund to your credit card is then completed by your financial institution, which may take a few business days, depending on your bank’s policies.
Refund by Manual Check
If for any reason your reservation will be refunded via check, you will receive a manual check by mail for the amount of your refund. The first two steps to this process are identical to credit card refunds – Customer Advocacy determines your refund status and obtains approval if needed. Afterward, your refund request is submitted to Accounts Payable. Once received by Accounts Payable, refunds are entered into our accounting system. Refund checks are cut every Thursday (although the day may vary around holidays), and mailed out the following afternoon.
Vouchers and Third-Party Refunds
Refunds for vouchers and third-party reservations are processed the same way as checks and sent out weekly. Some vouchers are non-refundable; please refer to the terms for your voucher for more information.
We understand that peace of mind is one of the most important aspects of the refund process. Now that you’ve got some extra cash in your pocket, you can start planning your next trip!
